Hickman was driving in Max's Race, in honour of legendary sprintcar racer Max Dumesny.
On track at one of his favourite circuits, Warrnambool's Premier Speedway, Hickman finished sixth in the A-main race.
To kick the night off he hit the track for the second heat where he started fourth and finished fifth.
He was behind the wheel for the fifth heat, where she started seventh and finished sixth.
In the feature race of the night Hickman put his skills to work.
He started from 14th position, however, he was able to weave his way through the field to finish sixth overall.
Hickman is now gearing up for his biggest event of the year, the start of the 2019-20 World Series Sprintcars.
The series starts on Boxing Day evening at Murray Bridge Speedway.
