The six-year-old gelding has only been at Pocock's Junortoun stable for a few days, but notched his 16 career win at odds of 33-1 at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night.
It continued a bright patch of form for Goodboy Cowboy, who has three wins - all of them at Melton - from his past six starts.
The previous two came under the guidance of Douglas.
Pocock has become the sixth individual to train Goodboy Cowboy, whose racing career kicked off at Gunbower in late 2017 for Euroa-based trainer and driver Cameron Maggs.
The gelding presented 2000 Pearl Kelly Award recipient Pocock with her first win of the 2019-20 season, albeit her small team of horses have combined for just four starts.
"I don't have as many horses as I used to as I teach at the Bendigo Harness Racing Training Centre," she said.
"It's closed for the year now, but it's been a good year."
Pocock expected Goodboy Cowboy to continue his progress through the grades, with the trainer to adopt a wait and see approach in regards his next run.
The gelding was driven by former Tasmanian Jack Laugher, who now has five wins aboard the son of Tell All USA and Miss Nightowl.
His win and that of the Shelbourne-trained Aleppo Murphy, also at Melton, add to a tally of 14 by Bendigo region trainers during the month of December.
It followed 41 during the month of November.
