After a first-round bye and then washout, Eaglehawk hit-off its campaign in fine style.
The Hawks reached 141 on the Bulldogs’ turf.
Zac East, 29 off 17; Matt Fitt, 29 off 23; and Anthony West, 28 off 22, were in devastating touch.
East and Fitt both struck two sixes, while West’s knock included four boundaries.
Best of the Golden Square attack were Jamie Bysouth, 3-25; Liam Smith, 2-22; and Connor Miller, 2-22.
Square’s chase started disastrously when it fell to 8-37.
Marquee player, Solomon Mire from Essendon opened the batting and scored 10.
The all-rounder from Zimbabwe conceded 26 off three overs, but did take a wicket.
Eaglehawk’s Sam Fitt bowled brilliantly to take 4-12 off four overs.
Aaron Monro, 2-13, and Brodie Hawke, 1-11 off four, also starred for the Borough.
The 67-run defeat was Golden Square’s first in the competition’s top-grade this season.
Huntly North Epsom made it two wins from as many starts as the Power beat Bendigo by 18 runs.
The Power raced to 2-42 off four overs as Michael Hanson and Adam Ward took charge on the Goers turf at Bendigo District RSL Oval in North Bendigo.
Bendigo struck back through the spin bowling of Tom Kirk, 3-26 off four overs, and James Seymour, 1-7 off four.
Power’s lower-order batsmen Liam Mottram, 21; Brodie McRae, 17; and coach Quentin Bentley, 12, played key roles in pushing the target beyond 130.
Seymour’s innings, 52 off 55, was a highlight in Bendigo’s chase.
Two run outs completed by Hanson and a wicket to Brett Elvey had the Goers in trouble on 3-41.
Alex Pearson, 22, and Seymour teamed for a 30-run stand, but a Power attack led by Johnson kept the pressure on as Bendigo finished on 7-116.
Despite a six-wicket haul by leg-spinner Neil Johnson, Strathfieldsaye was beaten by Strathdale-Maristians.
The Suns scored 8-131 as Cameron Taylor, 39; Sam Taylor, 33; and Travis King, 22, led the way.
Johnson finished with 6-23.
The Jets chase began well through Farley, 19, and Johnson, 24, but then stalled.
Sandhurst was 1-30 off six overs in reply to Kangaroo Flat’s score of 8-128 at Dower Park.
The Dragons chase was led by the hard-hitting Leon Beatty.
The Sandhurst opener had scored 23 off 17 deliveries before being dismissed in Tim Robertson’s first over.
Flat’s opening bowlers, captain Adam Burns and Brent Hamblin had conceded 12 and six runs respectively off two overs.
Kangaroo Flat’s best with the bat were Daniel Barber, 36 off 37; Burns, 33 off 23; and Tyler Hinds, 19 off 21.
Eli Bowe captured three wickets for Sandhust.
