BENDIGO City FC stretched its unbeaten run to three when it held Sunshine George Cross to a 0-0 draw in Saturday’s NPL Victoria clash at Epsom.

While Bendigo went into game confident of collecting three points for a victory, the draw and a single point was a fitting result for the home side after its defence was forced to withstand plenty of pressure in the second half.
Bendigo City looked destined for defeat when defender Tristan Romein was sent off midway through the second half.
However, the defence, in particular goalkeeper Gianmarco D’Oria, stood tall.
D’Oria made several good saves to deny Sunshine George Cross victory.
The positive from the draw was that it was the first time this season Bendigo City has kept a clean sheet for two matches in a row.
Bendigo City FC remains in ninth place on the west conference ladder ahead of this Saturday’s clash with the Eastern Lions in Melbourne. The Lions are in seventh place on the east table.
Bendigo’s under-20s suffered a 3-1 loss to Sunshine George Cross on Saturday.
It was a tough day for the Bendigo City juniors on Saturday when they hosted the powerful Green Gully.
The third-placed under-16s suffered a 3-0 loss to second-placed Green Gully, while the under-15s went down 6-0. Caydn Thompson scored the under-14s’ only goal in their 7-1 defeat.
The under-13s lost 2-0, while no scores were submitted for the under-18 and under-12 matches.
