The Twenty20 match will be played at Maiden Gully Recreation Reserve from 11am.
Entry is by gold coin donation, with the match to also feature triple AFL premiership player Chris Johnson and Triple M football commentator Barry Denner.
Johnson played 264 AFL games for Fitzroy and Brisbane and was a member of the Lions’ premiership hat-trick of 2001, 2002 and 2003, while Denner was the captain of Maiden Gully’s first Emu Valley Cricket Association division one premiership team.
The game is organised by David Becker, who plays cricket with Maiden Gully and is a Victoria Police Senior Constable.
“The game is all about raising money for Blue Ribbon so it can then be used for a worthy cause,” Becker said this week.
“The game is all about having some fun… it’s not too serious, although, both teams want to win once it gets started.”
The day will also include a BBQ and memorabilia auction.
The Blue Ribbon Foundation perpetuates the memory of members of Victoria Police killed in the line of duty.
