ELMORE’S season of dominance in the Northern United Cricket Association has extended into the competition’s short-form.
The Redbacks won Saturday night’s Twenty20 grand final against Raywood by five wickets at Colbinabbin.
Striving for back-to-back T20 premierships, Raywood compiled 8-116 batting first after winning the toss.
Lachlan Sidebottom’s 35 was the Foxes’ top score, while Elmore coach Jake Wright was the best with the ball with 2-9 off three overs.
In reply the Redbacks took 19 overs to answer with 5-121 to claim the title.
Elmore opener and skipper Matt Gilmour made the game’s highest score of 41, while Wright followed up his solid bowling performance by making 25.
Raywood’s Jake O’Brien (3-11) took three of the Foxes’ five wickets.
• Meanwhile, in the Upper Loddon Cricket Association Kingower’s David Rose made the competition’s seventh century of the season.
Rose carved out 125 in his side’s total of 238 in the 1st v 2nd battle against Inglewood on day one of round 13.
Apart from No.3 Rose, the only other player to make more than 20 for Kingower was Jayden Leach (24).
Rhys Roberts (3-58) picked up three wickets for Inglewood.
In other games, in-form Arnold all-rounder Ryan Metelmann took 4-47 as the Redbacks bowled Newbridge out for 124.
Arnold is 1-30 in reply.
Wedderburn opener Chris Giorlando carried his bat, finishing 70 n.o. in his side’s tally of 157 after it was sent in by Boort-Yando.
And Bridgewater has won by forfeit against Serpentine.
