TWO women have been taken to hospital for observation following a two-car crash at Lockwood.
Paramedics were called to intersection of Lockwood Road and Merindah Road about 4.30pm today.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said both women - one believed to have been aged in her 80s, another believed to have been aged in her 30s - were taken to Bendigo Hospital.
Police at the scene said a 75-year-old woman was issued with a penalty notice for failing to give way.
They said the white Mazda CX-7 the woman was driving was travelling west along Merindah Road when the crash occurred.
The other vehicle involved, a red Suzuki Swift, was Bendigo-bound on Lockwood Road.
A give way sign was present at the scene of the earlier crash in Eaglehawk, which police are investigating.
That crash involved two unrelated vehicles, one of which had left the intersection when police arrived.
